The Fairmount Secondary After-School Music Programme

The Fairmount Secondary After-School Music Programme is steadily growing into a vibrant and inspiring space for our learners. Since its launch, starting with an unusable music room, we have made meaningful progress in establishing a dedicated music room, sourcing instruments, and creating a structured environment where learners can explore and develop their musical talents. What started as a new initiative is already showing encouraging signs of impact, with learners attending consistently and embracing the opportunity to learn and collaborate.

Through regular practice and guidance, learners are building foundational skills in rhythm, coordination, teamwork, and performance. More importantly, the programme is fostering confidence, discipline, and resilience. It has been rewarding to see learners become engaged, finding genuine joy in their musical progress. The vision is to grow this into a cohesive school band that represents Fairmount Secondary with pride.

While we are proud of what has been achieved so far, there is still much to be done to fully realise the programme’s potential. Continued support will enable us to expand resources, enhance training, and provide more learners with access to this transformative experience. With the right backing, this programme can become a lasting platform for creativity, connection, and personal growth.
