Welcome to the KEYJ Foundation

The KEYJ Foundation is a South African non-profit organisation using music, mentorship and wellbeing initiatives to uplift and empower young people.

Since 2021, we have created platforms for emerging artists, supported youth development, and raised awareness around mental health. Through our Music over Mind Schools Programme, we are expanding this impact into schools by creating safe, creative spaces where young people can build confidence, resilience and connection through music.

Together with educators, donors, volunteers and community partners, we are helping young people thrive — on stage, in the classroom and beyond.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

Music Over
Mind in Schools

Music Over Mind is the KEYJ Foundation’s flagship school programme, designed to support youth mental wellbeing through music, creativity, and connection—particularly in under-resourced communities across Cape Town.

Launched as a pilot in 2026, this initiative goes beyond once-off events to create lasting impact within schools. It combines high-energy launch activations with ongoing support structures and an after-school music programme, giving learners both a voice and a support system.
