In 2025, the KEYJ Foundation hosted a series of intimate music events that celebrated both emerging and established talent, creating memorable evenings filled with passion, storytelling and musical excellence. These gatherings provided a platform where young performers could share the stage with seasoned artists, reflecting our commitment to mentorship, collaboration and community upliftment through music.

Among the featured performers were two exceptional young vocalists, Marzia Barry and Natalie Bossikop Smit. Marzia, a graduate of the University of Cape Town South African College of Music and current Master of Music student, captivated audiences with her angelic voice, musical sensitivity and polished stage presence. Natalie, one of the standout contenders in the Fresh Faces 2024 Talent Competition, brought energy and versatility to the stage as a singer, dancer and beauty therapist with a remarkably powerful and soulful voice.

These performances were elevated by the legendary Leslie Kleinsmith, supported by the acclaimed Camissa Knights under the direction of George Werner. Leslie Kleinsmith, a much-loved vocalist originally from District Six in Cape Town, has built a respected career spanning jazz, cabaret, R&B, swing and popular music. Influenced by iconic performers such as Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., he is celebrated for his smooth vocal tone, charismatic stage presence and timeless interpretations of classic songs. Over the years, Leslie has become a firm favourite among music lovers both locally and abroad, earning admiration for his professionalism, warmth and ability to connect deeply with audiences.

Together, these artists created unforgettable performances that reflected the spirit of the KEYJ Foundation — bringing generations together through the healing, inspiring and transformative power of music.
